Playa del Confital in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. So much drama just within a stretch of a few miles! Giant waves in the ocean, heavily rolling clouds in the sky, martian terrain on the ground. I took some pictures but left a part of my soul there…
El Confital Beach in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria is a spectacular location for a stroll to those who enjoy observing giant crashing waves in an otherworldly scenery, created by volcanic activity. I loved every moment of being there. So much so I had to go back for a second time to take some more pictures!

What a fantastic day! I had previously stayed in Corralejo but booked a room in a village called Villaverde for one night so I could spend a day hiking more on the inside of the island. My host, a lovely lady, turns out works in Corralejo and offered to pick me up by car and take me to Villaverde after her morning shift. So by noon I was ready to hit the dirt tracks of Fuerteventura with my camera, a bottle of water and some snacks. It was scorching hot, some of the small bushes released a lovely scent and at times I haven't met a soul for an hour or two. When I got nearer the volcano Calderon Hondo, the scenery started to turn completely surreal with all the different rock formations and it felt like being on a different planet.

"My work celebrates raw energy and passion where fashion moves, colours dance, and every inner child runs free, a celebration of love, life and joy." – Manrutt
I got to El Cotillo a couple of hours before I could check in to my apartment and went for a walk. I was drawn by a strange sound caused by water from waves slamming up against the cliffs and then finding its way up the cracks between the rocks. As I looked around I spotted all these crabs walking around though some of them blended in with the background really well, being the same colour as their surroundings. There was this beautiful red one though that stood out which you can see in the fifth picture. At this time I had my wide angle lens so had to get really close, which these shy creatures didn’t seem to appreciate at all. I also got soaked by the splashing water while trying to get their pictures but in that heat it was even refreshing. Thank god for the weather sealing on my camera and lens though!
On the last full day of my stay in Fuerteventura, I hired a mountain bike, to approach the somewhat isolated beach of Cofete. The uphills were trying but I really enjoyed the downhill bits, though had to be careful as there are no railings along the ‘road’ (mostly dirt tracks) and I’m not a particularly experienced mountain biker. First as I got there, I was slightly disappointed as the mountain ridges in the distance were hidden by mist but then this prevented me from taking the same photographs many have taken before me. I’ve tried to capture this place in the best light possible as in itself it is truly magical, however it really saddened me to see all sorts of small plastic washed ashore all over the beach (I have not included those photos here).
This is a selection of photos of strangers I've taken over the last few years. Some of them are candid, some of them were meant to be candid but was spotted while taking the shot and some of them are of people I had just met on the street and were kindly posing for a shot when I asked them. The pictures were taken at various locations and times in London (UK), Broadstairs (UK), Ramsgate (UK), Canterbury (UK), Snowdonia (UK), Corralejo (Fuerteventura, Spain), around lake Balaton (Hungary), Athens (Greece), Krakow (Poland), Wroclaw (Poland) and Munich (Germany).
Photos to be featured in marketing material for Wing Tsun London, working with two of their advanced students as models. The protagonist of the shots is the female character, to encourage more ladies to sign up as currently most members are predominantly male. However, the martial art wing tsun was invented by a woman and in fact, it was named after her first student who was also a woman.
Reportage style shots taken at the London office of multi award-winning creative agency Luminous, for website and social media.
Portraits from our latest photoshoot with Wing Tsun London Martial Art School. They needed new photos for their website as some of their members have graded to higher levels which means a change in their attire. There have also been a couple of new additions to the teaching team, with their freshly achieved primary master grades.
This page contains a selection of portrait shots of people I know, people from all walks of life.
A personal series I liked so much I even created a Lightroom preset based on (called Puffy Cloud City), which I’ve been frequently using since.
A blend of organic and inorganic, botanical and architectural, in the heart of London’s Canary Wharf
I spent a couple of days in the spa town of Hévíz, Hungary between Christmas and New Year’s, where a thermal spring feeds the largest swimmable thermal lake in the world. One morning I noticed from the window of my accommodation that a thick veil of fog is covering the valley and low hills across from me. I took some pictures, which you can see >here<, however, decided to get up earlier the next day to get some more shots, during sunrise. This is a selection from those.

Art students working on their assignments and discussing their progress through the semester with their module leader at the art department of Hungarian University of Agriculture and Life Sciences – MATE. Their task was to choose real life objects as a starting point and create abstract works of art based on those. The objects included pendants of necklaces, clothes driers, hand mannequins, car engines and more. The photos were used for the university's social media sites.
Cofete Beach in Fuerteventura. No towns, villages or any human settlement for miles. No shops, cafes or facilities either. It is not even particularly easy to access, only through rough, serpentine dirt tracks. However, as pristine as it might look from a distance, by just looking at the sand at my feet, I felt uneasy and sad in a place that should have been one of the most beautiful ones I've ever visited. The ubiquitous pieces of plastic, the edges of which have been rounded by floating in the ocean for god knows how long and being repeatedly washed ashore, by now almost looking organic, create a strange aesthetic in these surroundings, that make one feel like walking through a post apocalyptic waste land at the edge of the world.
Photos of a long walk from El Cotillo to the lighthouse Faro del Tostón one morning during my visit to Fuerteventura. The way to the lighthouse led through white sand dunes with fossilised snail’s exoskeletons scattered all over the place to sun baked roads to dark volcanic rocks forming the shoreline.
